Autism is a neurological disorder that affects early brain development. It retards the normal development of communication, social and reasoning skills.

As autistic children age, they may develop other brain disorders and be diagnosed as mentally retarded. About a third of people with autism develop seizures. Four times as many males are affected than females.

Autism Treatment

At The Centre For Integrated Health, our initial treatment for autistic children focuses on dietary changes and detoxification. This nutritional and cleansing approach is necessary, because autism often leads to:

1. An inability to absorb gluten and casein (dairy)

2. Low Hcl (stomach acid) and pancreatic enzymes, which diminishes absorption of vitamins and minerals with poor breakdown of foods which leads to bowel toxicity.

3. High levels of toxins from various sources. Pre-birth can may include mercury, aspartame, pesticides and medication residues. Post-birth these may be antibiotics and vaccinations.

4. High levels of Candida, Aspergillus, and parasites.

5. High levels of heavy metals including lead, aluminium, antimony and copper, which results in a weakened immune system.

We typically use energetic screening technologies to identify nutritional issues and other base problems. We then develop a custom health improvement program which can consist of diet, homeopathic remedies, and other natural treatments. Initial treatment of any autistic child will involve dietary changes and a detoxying programme. The younger the child is treated the greater the chance of success.

Young H first came to our clinic when he was 4 years old. He was unable to speak, clapped continuously, made very little eye contact and had constant diahorrea. One year later, having made radical changes to his diet and taking supplements he was able to read well and talk (although this is still limited).
