What is Autism?
Autism is a neurological disorder that affects early brain development. It retards the normal development of communication, social and reasoning skills.
As autistic children age, they may develop other brain disorders and be diagnosed as mentally retarded. About a third of people with autism develop seizures. Four times as many males are affected than females.
Autism Treatment
At The Centre For Integrated Health, our initial treatment for autistic children focuses on dietary changes and detoxification. This nutritional and cleansing approach is necessary, because autism often leads to:
* an inability to absorb gluten and casein (dairy) * poor absorption of vitamins and minerals * problems breaking down food and thus causing bowel toxicity * high levels of toxins, heavy metals, aspergillus and parasites * high incidence of Candida

Case Study
Young “H” was brought to our clinic at the age of four. He was unable to speak, clapped continuously, made very little eye contact and had constant diarrhoea. This last symptom was extremely important to note, because it was depriving his body of nutrients, thereby exposing him to an array of threatening health conditions.
As a painless and non-invasive technology, we were able to safely perform a full system scan on four-year-old “H” (there was no discomfort or pain to him during the scan). The results were striking. We discovered that his body was toxic with pesticide, mercury and aluminum. He also had low HCL levels and a Candida overgrowth in his gut with various vitamin and mineral deficiencies and food intolerances. He was also suffering from the residual effects of a vaccination. This was all happening inside the body of a four year old!
Because he was very young, we introduced treatment carefully and at an appropriately gentle pace. With complete parental supervision and approval, “H” was given herbs and homeopathic remedies to help eliminate toxins. His diet was modified to eliminate all intolerant and Candida promoting foods. He was also given nutritional supplements, since he was not accessing necessary nutrition through his digestive processes.
One year later, “H” was able to read well, and his speech, while still limited, improved considerably. His bowel movements normalized, he is now toilet-trained, and his continuous clapping has stopped.
His significant health and emotional improvement now allows “H” to enjoy an education, and prepares him for independence later in life. His health program is also supported by progressive speech therapy.
